Music Video: Always- Bon Jovi

This music video is described as a narrative because it is telling a story. At the beginning, a boy and girl fall for each other and are dating. Later on, the girl walks into the bedroom to find her boyfriend cheating on her. She leaves and while she is sad on the street, a guy finds her and decides to paint her. Later on, the guy who cheated on the girl comes into that room with the painting and sees the painting. He immediately gets mad because the painting is nude, thinking the girl cheated on him, even though he already cheated on her and lost her. The girl leaves and as he walks out, the guy sets the apartment on fire. At the end you can tell the guy regrets cheating because he lost the love of his life and he will "always" love her. The mise-in-scene that was used was apartment buildings and a bedroom. Extravagant costumes were not used, just normal clothes. The expressions the actors and actresses used were mainly sad, especially at the end. Some of the music video was spent fighting but at the beginning it started off with a couple madly in love. The concept this music video taught at the end was that your choices matter. The guy never thought he would get caught cheating, but his desire for one night made him lose the love of his life. The music video kept going back to the narrative story telling part and then back to the artist playing the guitar and singing.

Brainstorm

1. Music video
Title: Happily ever after
Tagline: true love reveals itself in the end

In this music video, there will be a guy and a girl best friend. The girl likes the guy as more than a friend, but the guy is always chasing some other girl. In the video, the girl will be showing signs of jealousy but still continue to be there for the guy, whatever he needs. At the end of the video, the guy will see the girl has been there all along and he does have feelings for her. They could end by holding hands or kissing. This story would be linear because it would give the viewers information to understand what is happening and lay out the events in order.

2. Narrative
Title: Digg or Die
Tagline: volleyball, Bethel College

For my narrative, I could do a live coverage at a sporting event of some sort. I would most likely choose my older sister, Amanda's, volleyball game so I could record things myself. She plays for Bethel College and it would be a linear story, leading up to the winner.

3. Documentary
Title: Krystle Kares for Kids
Tagline: elementary, kids

In this documentary, I would follow my older sister around on her path towards teaching. In one year, she will have a career as an Elementary Education teacher. From asking her about her freshman year of college, and trying to find flashbacks, to how she is now in student teaching.
